Abstract

The aim of this case report was to evaluate the result of maxillary sinus floor elevation via a lateral approach under complicated situations. Three cases of maxillary sinus floor elevations were performed using lateral approaches. Case 1, 2: the presence of septum on the maxillary sinus floor was found from a radiographic evaluation. Case 3: during surgery, membrane perforation was repaired using resorbable collagen membrane. After 10 days, collagen membrane exposure was found in the area where guided bone regeneration was attempted. However, no complication was found in the area where the sinus floor elevation was attempted. This case report conveyed possible sinus floor elevation procedures for complicated clinicalsituations.
